Welcome to Halestorm, the London-based, independent PR company first launched in October 2013. Founded by experienced record label publicist, Lauren Hales, this boutique firm specialises in both music and celebrity clients, promoting major label releases and A-list entertainment projects.
Included within its impressive portfolio are album launches from the likes of America’s Got Talent winner Grace VanderWaal, pop chanteuse and The Voice Kids Coach Pixie Lott, rock legends Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park and Weezer and arena-packing acts such as The Vamps and Steps. The range of clients also extends to TV and Events, where the company has represented two professional dancers from the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing as well as working on high profile events such as “A Night Out With Sir Michael Caine” at the Royal Albert Hall.
Much of Halestorm’s demand stems from a bespoke approach to its clients. Lauren and her team – which also includes former Virgin EMI employee, Michelle Duffy – work to a unique personal M.O; no client is treated the same and the idea of a “one-size-fits-all” campaign never comes into play. Instead, artists and events are given a publicity drive to suit their individual targets and ambitions, while exciting creative strategies are executed through a vast range of contacts. The results are unforgettable PR campaigns and memorable red carpet showcases that generate major coverage within a raft of media outlets and social media brands.
These successes have been a result of Lauren’s experience within the record industry. Having started work at Island Records, she then began a ten-year career at Mercury Records (part of the Universal Music Group) where she rose to the position of Head of Publicity until Halestorm’s launch in 2013. Within that period Lauren orchestrated press launches for global names including Justin Bieber, Lionel Richie and Fall Out Boy. Lauren also managed the PR for Rihanna, beginning with her breakthrough third album Good Girl Gone Bad in 2007 through to the phenomenon of Unapologetic in 2012.
Since starting Halestorm, she has overseen the PR on albums by the likes of Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real (Turn Off The News (Build A Garden)), Pixie Lott (Young Foolish Happy, Pixie Lott), Fall Out Boy (Save Rock And Roll, American Beauty/ American Psycho, MANIA), The Vamps (Meet The Vamps, Wake Up, Night & Day), The Script (No Sound Without Silence, Freedom Child), Chase And Status (Brand New Machine), Shawn Mendes (Handwritten, Illuminate), Weezer (Pacific Daydream, Black Album), Wilkinson (Lazers Not Included), Una Healy (The Waiting Game), James Arthur (Back From The Edge), Steps (Tears On The Dancefloor), Alphabeat (Don’t Know What’s Cool Anymore) and Linkin Park (One More Light). Halestorm has also worked with a number of charities including ActionAid’s Music Speaks campaign.
As a result of this work, Halestorm has been trailed by acclaim. The Music Week Awards has so far shortlisted Lauren for PR Campaign of the Year five times with Mike Shinoda’s Post Traumatic, Steps’ Tears On The Dancefloot Chase and Status’ Brand New Machine, Rihanna’s Loud and Turn It Up by Pixie Lott. In 2013, she was selected as one of Music Week’s prestigious Top 30 music executives under the age of 30. Elsewhere Lauren was shortlisted in The h.Club100’s search for the most innovative and influential people working across the creative industries.
